Every AI Ad Contest Open in August 2026: $2M+ in Prizes (Live List)

If you make AI video ads, August 2026 is the most crowded month the category has ever had. Between platform-run creator programs, brand challenges and festival tracks, there is more than $2M in combined prize money open to entrants right now โ€” and most of it is being competed for by a surprisingly small number of people.

This is our live list. We update it through the month as competitions open and close.

    How to read this list

Three things decide whether a competition is worth your week:

    • Prize-to-entrant ratio. A $100,000 pool with 40,000 entrants is a lottery. A $7,500 pool with 200 entrants is a job.
    • Brief specificity. Vague "make something cool about our brand" briefs are graded on taste. Specific briefs are graded on execution โ€” and execution is learnable.
    • Rights terms. Some competitions take a license to every submission. Others only take rights to the winners. Read this before you upload.

Brand ad competitions (paid briefs, real products)

These are the highest expected-value entries for most creators, because the entrant pools are smaller and the briefs are concrete.

AdArena brand challenges โ€” Prize pools from $5,000, with flagship competitions at $7,500 and above, split across the top finishers rather than winner-take-all. Briefs come from real brands with real products, submissions close roughly seven days after launch, and the brand owns full IP only on the ads it selects and pays for. Open to any creator worldwide. See what is live on the challenges page.

Because prizes are distributed across a ranked list rather than a single winner, a strong-but-not-first submission still pays. That changes the maths of entering considerably compared to a single-winner festival.

    Platform and tool competitions

Model vendors and editing platforms run creator programs to seed their launch content. Prizes here are often a mix of cash, credits and feature placement. Credits are not cash โ€” value them at what you would actually have spent.

    Festival and film-adjacent tracks

Traditional advertising festivals have added AI categories. Prestige is high, cash is usually lower, and judging leans heavily on craft and concept over performance. Worth entering if you are building a reputation; less efficient if you are building income.

    The realistic strategy for August

Do not enter everything. Pick two or three competitions where the brief matches work you already know how to make, and put real hours into each. Creators who place repeatedly almost always specialise โ€” beauty, food, apps, fitness โ€” rather than chasing every open call.

Why brands are running competitions instead of buying productions

From the brand side, the logic is simple: a competition is a way to find the winning ad before spending on media. Instead of commissioning one expensive concept and hoping, a brand puts one brief in front of hundreds of creators and gets dozens of genuinely different angles back โ€” then pays for the ones that work. That is why prize pools keep growing, and why this list keeps getting longer.

If you are on the brand side of this, the For Brands page explains how the format works end to end.
