    How to Win on AdArena

The best-looking ad doesn't always win. The ad the brand can actually use does.

AdArena is not an AI art contest. It's a creative competition for ads that stop the scroll, fit the brand, follow the brief, and make people care.

If you want to win, don't just make something beautiful. Make something that works.

    01 · The Core Truth

Brands don't pay for cool AI videos. They pay for ads that move people.

    It grabs attention.

    The scroll stops. Period.

    It tells the right story.

A clear angle, not random visuals.

    It feels like the brand.

    On-tone, on-message, on-brand.

    It can actually be used.

    Campaign-ready, not a demo reel.

“The winning ad is not the one that screams 'AI.' It's the one that makes the brand say: 'We can use this tomorrow.'”
    02 · The Winning Formula

Every great AdArena submission has 5 layers.

    01

    Hook

Does it stop the scroll in the first 2 seconds? Your first seconds matter more than your best shot. If the opening is weak, the rest of the video doesn't exist.

    Strong Hooks
    • "Most people don't know this exists."
    • "What if your building had a private sky lobby?"
    • "This is not just an apartment. It's a lifestyle system."
    • "Before you buy another apartment, look at this."
    Weak Hooks
    • Generic drone shots.
    • Slow cinematic openings.
    • Logo first.
    • Long intros.
    • Pretty visuals with no reason to keep watching.
    02

    Brand Fit

Would the brand proudly post this? A winning ad should feel like it belongs to the brand. Not too random. Not too childish. Not off-tone.

    • Would the brand share this on Instagram?
    • Would the sales team send this to leads?
    • Would the founder approve this?
    • Would a customer trust this?
    03

    Brief Accuracy

Did you actually follow the challenge? A beautiful ad that ignores the brief is not a winning ad. The brief is not a suggestion. The brief is the battlefield.

    • Did I include the required product or project name?
    • Did I include the main message?
    • Did I speak to the right audience?
    • Did I use the correct format?
    • Did I include the requested CTA?
    • Did I avoid things the brand asked not to include?
    04

    Originality

Originality doesn't mean being weird. It means finding a sharper way to say the truth.

    Generic

    Luxury apartments in Bat Yam.

    Better

What if your home came with the lifestyle of a 5-star hotel?

    Generic

    AI tool for businesses.

    Better

Your marketing team doesn't need more tools. It needs 50 ideas by Friday.

    05

    Production Quality

AI can create magic. But bad editing can destroy it.

    • No text mistakes.
    • No weird voice-over.
    • No AI watermarks.
    • No broken subtitles.
    • No messy pacing.
    • No low-resolution shots.
    • No random scenes that don't serve the ad.
    • No wrong aspect ratio.
03 · What Brands Actually Want

A brand is not judging only beauty. A brand is asking:

    Can I use this?

    Does it represent us well?

    Will it make people stop?

Does it make the offer clear?

    Does it create desire?

    Does it feel premium enough?

Does it make the viewer understand why this matters?

    04 · The Judging Dashboard

Before you submit, score your own ad.

    011–10

Does it feel like something the brand would actually post?

    031–10

    Brief Accuracy

Did you include the required message, assets, format, and CTA?

    041–10

    Originality

    051–10

    Production Quality

Is the video polished, clean, and professional?

    061–10

    Commercial Use

Can the brand use this in a real campaign?

If your ad scores under 8 in any major category, fix it before submitting.

“Don't submit the first version that looks good. Submit the version that survives the scorecard.”
    05 · Red Flags

Red Flags That Lower Your Score

These mistakes can hurt even a beautiful submission.

    Text Mistakes

Misspelled words, broken captions, wrong brand names, or unreadable typography.

    Voice-Over Problems

Bad pronunciation, robotic delivery, wrong tone, or audio that feels unfinished.

    Ignoring the Brief

Missing required messages, wrong audience, wrong language, wrong CTA, or wrong format.

    AI Watermarks

Never submit videos with tool watermarks or visible generation marks.

    Low Quality Visuals

Blurry shots, distorted faces, broken hands, strange objects, or inconsistent scenes.

    Weak Editing

Bad pacing, awkward cuts, messy transitions, or scenes that don't build a story.

    Wrong Aspect Ratio

If the challenge asks for 9:16, submit 9:16. Format matters.

    Generic AI Look

Pretty but meaningless. Cinematic but empty. Visuals without a selling idea.

    Unsafe Usage

Copyrighted music, celebrity likeness, third-party logos, or anything the brand may not be able to use commercially.

A red flag doesn't just make your ad look less professional. It makes the brand trust it less.

    06 · Pretty vs. Winning

    Pretty vs. Winning

Pretty AI videos get likes. Winning ads get chosen.

    Pretty
    Winning
    Looks cinematic
    Stops the scroll fast
    Starts slow
    Uses a clear hook
    Uses random luxury shots
    Matches the brand
    Focuses on visuals
    Follows the brief
    Feels like an AI demo
    Builds desire
    Says something generic
    Makes the offer clear
    Could belong to any brand
    Feels ready for a campaign

If your ad could work for any brand, it probably won't win for this brand.
