Hook (first 3 seconds)
If the viewer drops in 3 seconds — we lost them. The opening is everything.
Concept
An original, sharp idea with an angle we haven't seen.
Storytelling & Pacing
A clear arc — buildup, surprise, or a punch.
Brief alignment
Understanding the brand voice, the core message, and the CTA we asked for.
Editing & post-production
Rhythm, tight cuts, music, sound design.
Visual quality
Lighting, composition, sharpness, overall aesthetic.
Captions
Clear, synced, readable even on mute.
Red Flags — for next time
Wrong aspect ratio — We asked for 9:16 (vertical) and got 16:9 (landscape). Great videos were disqualified just for this.
AI tool watermarks — Veo, Runway, Pika, etc. — remove the watermark. It hurts professional credibility.
No captions — 85% of Reels viewers scroll on mute. Without captions, the message is lost.
Visual issues — Too dark, digital noise, blur, distorted objects, broken faces.
Unprofessional editing — Hard cuts, unsynced audio, cheap transitions, mismatched music.
Ignoring the brief — Ignoring the message, the audience, or the brand's tone of voice.
Every submission was carefully reviewed. Even if you didn't win — you earned XP, added to your portfolio, and learned what to refine.
